Job Overview
- Pearson is seeking talented undergraduate students for a 10-week internship as a Cloud Engineer.
- As an intern, you will have the opportunity to bring your unique perspective, academic knowledge, technical skills, and enthusiasm to help create products used by students.
- You will be assigned to a team and work on real-life projects that contribute to the business.
- On-the-job training and professional development will be provided, and you will have direct access to a senior team member for mentoring.
Compensation
- Paid internship for 10 weeks, starting on Monday, June 5th and ending on Friday, August 11th.
Responsibilities
- Gain practical experience with DevOps tools and technologies.
- Learn about building and maintaining infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS) using Terraform.
- Develop knowledge of building CI/CD pipelines and configuring monitoring tools.
- Learn agile standards and processes.
- Automate repetitive tasks using programming languages.
- Gain knowledge of Linux operating system, Git (Bitbucket), Jenkins, Docker, and AWS services.
- Work with a diverse global team of engineers.
- Opportunity to take a certification test before the end of the internship.
Requirements
- Pursuing a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with Software Development subjects or relevant work experience.
- Basic understanding of a programming language such as Python, Java, C++, Node.js, or Ruby.
- Knowledge of a version source control tool such as Git.
- Well-rounded and eager to take on new challenges.
- Graduation date of May 2025.
- Must be able to work hybrid (in-person/remote) at our Durham office for the entire 10 weeks.
