Job Overview

• LyondellBasell is seeking a full-time, paid internship from approximately May 2024 through August 2024.
• This internship will provide a comprehensive overview of Government Affairs, including international, federal, state and local government relations. The Intern will gain a better understanding of these various functions and be prepared to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world practical setting.
• The work location is the LyondellBasell Tower in Downtown Houston.

Responsibilities

• Assist members of the Government Relations team with sustainability policy assessment and development.
• Assist with data entry and data reconciliation for the Trade Association database.
• Assist with a range of projects related to metrics, analytics, and policy development processes.
• Assist with data compilation with respect to the roll-out and internal education of the company's DoA and Trade Associations.
• Under the guidance of the GR team, participate in various projects and activities.
• Participate in brainstorm sessions, team meetings, and department meetings.

Requirements

• Min. Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in a Political Science or International Studies program with an interest and aptitude to work in Public Affairs or Government Relations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and internet applications.
  • Fluent in English.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Attention to detail and a creative mind are essential to this role.
  • Additionally, the individual must work well in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Critical thinking, teamwork.
