Job Location
Temporary location: A different NJ location (exact timing of move to Rahway, NJ to be communicated at a future date)
Job Overview
- The Future Talent Program offers internships lasting up to 12 weeks with the opportunity to work on one or more projects.
- This internship focuses on intellectual property within the Research & Development Division.
- Gain valuable development and insight into the pharmaceutical industry for long-term career planning.
Compensation
Responsibilities
- Work on-site at least three days per week, with the option to work remotely up to two days per week.
- Collaborate with experienced IP attorneys on various projects, such as:
- Drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO and international patent offices.
- Analyzing company and third-party patent filings and applications.
- Developing patent strategies.
- Counseling company researchers on patent issues.
- Assisting with current or potential patent litigation.
- Obtaining trademark protection for company products.
- Collaborate with various functional areas within the company.
- Gain exposure to the drug development process and intellectual property strategies of the pharmaceutical industry.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a science or engineering field.
- Current law student pursuing a J.D. degree from an accredited law school, returning to school in fall 2023.
- Available for a full 10 to 12-week internship starting June 2024.
- Preferred: 1L law student.
- Preferred: Cumulative undergraduate or graduate GPA of at least 3.0.
- Preferred: Strong understanding of and interest in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Preferred: Strong interest in IP law and taking the USPTO patent bar exam.
- Preferred: Superior personal character and ethics.
- Preferred: Strong personal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred: Excellent academic achievement and analytical ability.
