Job Overview

  • FWD.us is a bipartisan political organization that aims to achieve meaningful reforms in America's immigration and criminal justice systems. We believe in helping individuals achieve their full potential and move America forward. As an intern in our Human Resources department, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission by supporting programs and processes that add value to our organization and employees. This is a fast-paced environment with big projects and real impact.

Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Perform various standard administrative processes to support the human resources function
  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication and assist with meeting coordination
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of health and wellness education series
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of financial literacy education series
  • Track and resolve HR invoices and manage payment processes
  • Provide support for HR events and special projects
  • Gain valuable experience and training in a growing nonprofit organization
  • Assist in creating and distributing communications materials related to HR happenings

Requirements

  • Dedication to the mission of FWD.us and sensitivity to migration and criminalization issues
  • Strong interest in human resources, organizational development, and culture advancement
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to new conditions and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience or course of study in Human Resources preferred
  • Proficiency in office and document management programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps)
