Job Overview

Western National Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Communications Intern to join our Communications and Customer Experience team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to jump-start your career in the communications field, gain hands-on experience, and directly assist the Corporate Communications team with various projects. This internship offers a flexible work schedule for the summer and the chance to contribute to our day-to-day operations.

Compensation

The base pay offered for this position will be $20.00/hour.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Communication projects supporting organization initiatives.
• Create and distribute companywide communications.
• Help develop a wide variety of content such as videos, social media graphics, blog posts, newsletter articles, and more, ensuring brand standards are upheld.
• Assist with organization and maintenance of photo and video assets.
• Support logistics for companywide events and assist with photography for company culture events.
• Provide day-to-day support for key internal communications.
• Assist with annual content audit for public-facing websites, intranet, and other projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently working toward a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
• 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and be an effective team member.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office programs and popular social media platforms.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress platform preferred (or willingness to learn).
• Proven experience working in an office environment preferred.
