Job Overview
Stanley Black & Decker is offering a unique internship opportunity for rising seniors in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. As an intern, you will join a cross-functional team and work on various tasks and projects related to product design, testing, regulatory compliance, quality control, and manufacturing. This position provides exposure to key members of a Fortune 500 company, a flexible schedule of up to 40 hours per week, and the potential for career advancement.

Responsibilities
- Design and prototype innovative product concepts for consumer power tools and related fields
- Perform engineering design tasks for new product development and cost reduction projects
- Prepare possible solutions and decision matrices to determine technical direction
- Assist in the development and testing of new products that meet design, marketing, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements
- Support manufacturing facilities and supply chain on design-related issues for existing products
Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Summer Mechanical Engineering intern position will have the following qualifications:
- Rising Senior with a target graduation date in 2025
- Strong academic credentials in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- Basic CAD and drafting skills
- Courses in basic Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Embedded Software (a plus)
- Experience with designing sheet metal parts, stampings, welded assemblies, and injection-molded plastic parts
- Ability to balance strong academics with extracurricular activities
