Job Overview

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to implement academic, behavioral, and therapeutic services for special education students with emotional disturbances
  • Use backwards design principles to deliver a differentiated curriculum, rooted in state content standards
  • Use student-centered instructional methods as defined by the school's Learning Principles
  • Employ authentic and norm-referenced assessment strategies to monitor progress and guide instructional planning and decision making
  • Provide individualized academic intervention programs to target at-risk learners
  • Engage caregivers in the educational process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs
  • Co-lead the classroom team to maintain a structured therapeutic learning environment based on Seneca's philosophy

Compensation

  • Special Education Teacher (teaching on a STSP/PIP credential/ Long term substitute) - $66,799
  • Special Education Teacher (teaching on an Education Specialist Intern credential) - $70,000
  • Special Education Teacher (teaching on Education Specialist credential) - $73,997
  • Additional enhancement for Masters in Education or a related field - $4,160/annually
  • $2000 sign-on bonus!
  • Salary increases each year

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree AND Candidates must possess a California Education Specialist teaching credential (Prelim Ed Specialist, Intern, STSP/PIP)
  • TB test clearance, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster
  • Demonstrated interest in Special Education and Teaching
