Job Overview
Gain hands-on experience and learn what it's like to lead a team within a Target Supply Chain Facility. This paid internship provides a realistic job preview into life as an Operations Manager. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with other managers and team members to understand Target's supply chain business and excel in a management role. During this internship, you'll lead daily operations, motivate and influence a team, and develop problem-solving skills to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Compensation
Pay Range: $16.30 USD - $27.69 USD
Responsibilities
- Lead and align the team in daily business priorities
- Work alongside team members to execute daily operations
- Maintain quality and inventory accuracy through standardization of processes
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement
- Drive process improvement initiatives using continuous improvement methodologies
- Assist with IT and Operation team communication to address system issues
- Recruit and mentor team members to develop a continuous improvement mindset
- Address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles
- Lead daily meetings and planning sessions
- Conduct audits and safety walks to ensure compliance
- Provide feedback and coaching to team members
- Generate new ideas and solutions for business opportunities
- Seek opportunities for growth and personal development
- Actively participate in internship training and developmental activities
Requirements
- Participation in school or extracurricular activities and leadership roles
- Strong interest in working in retail supply chain facilities
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and initiative
- Team-oriented thinking with a willingness to learn
- Ability to access all areas of the facility and respond to team member issues
- Ability to lift and move merchandise (up to 15-40 pounds)
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
