Job Overview

DoSomething, a thirty-year-old nonprofit, is seeking a passionate Product & Engineering Intern to help fuel young people to change the world. In this role, you will work closely with the Product & Engineering team to synthesize, present, and build the forward-vision for the member experience of DoSomething members. You will assist in planning and facilitating user research activities, support the analysis and presentation of research findings, and contribute to the design solutions. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical skills in UX research and collaborate with stakeholders to create a meaningful impact.

Compensation

$17/hr, 20 - 25 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and facilitating user research activities (interviews, surveys, usability tests)
  • Recruit research participants with diverse representation and appropriate audiences
  • Support the analysis and presentation of research findings
  • Collaborate with DoSomething staff members to connect research findings to organizational goals
  • Contribute to design solutions through sketches, wireframes, or other UX storytelling tools
  • Engage young people in reviewing and testing product features
  • Analyze testing results and iterate on the design of product features
  • Facilitate ideation sessions with stakeholders to inform product features

Requirements

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences
  • Comfortable presenting ideas and research findings
  • Passion for basic training, user-centric design, or design thinking
  • Foundational understanding of UX design and research, including user research methodologies
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite
