Qorvo's Module Design Engineering Internships are offered in our Advanced Cellular Engineering business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

  • Design and development of RF Front End Modules for advanced cellular product applications
  • Simulating module performance and solving isolation and coupling problems
  • Improving/innovating simulation infrastructure and designing test laminates
  • Building and simulating complex EM models of RF Front End Modules using Ansys HFSS to capture isolation and coupling impact and module shielding effects
  • Running FMS (full module simulations) across all functional states to identify compliance issues and provide solutions to improve margin to specifications
  • Using test benches including Sig Gen, Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, VNA, and probe-station to test and evaluate designs.

Requirements

  • Pursuing MSEE, PhD degree, or equivalent in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Coursework (including lab) in RF circuit design, good knowledge of S-parameters, transmission lines, and Smith chart
  • Desired coursework includes Analog circuit design, Integrated Circuit design, Electromagnetics, and Solid-state Devices
  • Experience with design tools such as Keysight ADS, AWR, HFSS/Sonnet/IE3D (EM tool)
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers, is highly beneficial
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written - good presentation skills, ability to clearly communicate technical and/or logistic issues/solutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products
