Job Overview
Our Parsons offices in Oakland and Sacramento are hiring Civil Engineering Interns for our Summer 2024 program in our transportation road and highway division. This program lasts 10 weeks or more and offers full-time compensated work for 40 hours weekly. The roles are office-based, allowing for hybrid remote working (1-2 days work from home allowed).
Compensation
Salary Range: $20.63 - $36.11
Responsibilities
- Perform various basic engineering support assignments that require a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques.
- Utilize a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches and/or general engineering and design information.
- Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
- Develop a practical knowledge of the highway engineering discipline.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of studies.
- Candidates should be at a Junior or Senior level in an Undergraduate Degree Program or enrolled in a Master's Degree program.
- Completed classwork in transportation-related classes is essential.
- Literate in PC software, with a working knowledge of CAD and other computer software used to complete design assignments.
- A standing GPA of 3.0 or higher is desirable.
- Solid aptitude for learning basic transportation engineering systems design.
- Some experience with Autocad or Microstation training is preferred.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work in an office-based environment at least 3 days per week.
