Job Overview
The Mechanical Aerospace Engineering Intern will join the Rapid Solutions division at Jacobs and will be responsible for applying engineering design principles to various electronics packaging projects. The intern will gain hands-on experience in designing for challenging conditions and will have the opportunity to learn about various engineering disciplines such as PCB design, RF engineering, experimental aircraft operations, aerostructure modification, satellites, and fabrication and manufacturing processes. Mentoring by an experienced engineer will be provided to enhance the educational experience.

Responsibilities
- 3D CAD (Solidworks) design and drafting of mechanical and aerostructure components and assemblies
- Performing engineering analyses: aerodynamic, structural, tolerance stack-ups
- Fabricating, assembling and qualifying 1st article engineering prototypes
- Designing and conducting laboratory experiments to evaluate material selections and/or advanced electronic packaging manufacturing processes
- Performing vendor research, selection, and interface
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Pursuing a Bachelors (2nd year or above) or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Cumulative GPA > 3.0/4.0
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills, including a passionate and can-do attitude
