Description
Job Title: Education Intern
Job Location: Boring, OR
Job Overview:
- Assist the Education Programs Manager in planning, preparing for, and hosting workshops, field trips, and educational booth
- Learn about developing curricula, lesson plans, and tailoring educational content for all ages
- Gain knowledge about growing and cooking with seasonal produce and food systems issues
- Learn organic and regenerative growing methods and assist in harvesting produce
Compensation: $15.50/hr
Responsibilities:
- Assist Education Programs Manager with planning, preparing for, and hosting educational activities
- Evaluate and improve educational activities
- Plant, build, maintain, and harvest from learning gardens
- Attend Education Programs and all-team meetings
- Assist other TCF managers as needed
- Help coordinate volunteers on volunteer days
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and friendly personality
- Experience in teaching and working with people of all ages and abilities
- Attention to detail and good teamwork skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Interest in advancing social justice and responsible environmental stewardship
- Capable of lifting and carrying at least 50 lbs and using basic tools
- Prepared to work in various weather conditions
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States
- CPR, First Aid, and food handler's certifications are helpful, but not required
