Job Title: Education Intern

Job Location: Boring, OR

Job Overview:

  • Assist the Education Programs Manager in planning, preparing for, and hosting workshops, field trips, and educational booth
  • Learn about developing curricula, lesson plans, and tailoring educational content for all ages
  • Gain knowledge about growing and cooking with seasonal produce and food systems issues
  • Learn organic and regenerative growing methods and assist in harvesting produce

Compensation: $15.50/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Education Programs Manager with planning, preparing for, and hosting educational activities
  • Evaluate and improve educational activities
  • Plant, build, maintain, and harvest from learning gardens
  • Attend Education Programs and all-team meetings
  • Assist other TCF managers as needed
  • Help coordinate volunteers on volunteer days

Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic and friendly personality
  • Experience in teaching and working with people of all ages and abilities
  • Attention to detail and good teamwork skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Interest in advancing social justice and responsible environmental stewardship
  • Capable of lifting and carrying at least 50 lbs and using basic tools
  • Prepared to work in various weather conditions
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States
  • CPR, First Aid, and food handler's certifications are helpful, but not required
