Job Overview

The Terrain: Buying Intern - Home position at URBN Inc. offers hands-on learning experience within our portfolio of brands. As an intern, you will work in our Home Office located in the historic Philadelphia Navy Yard. You will support the daily operational functions within your designated buying area, contribute your unique perspective, and develop key cross-functional relationships. This is a paid internship program that runs from 6/3 through 8/9.

Responsibilities

  • Open packages, deliver them to the respective buyer, and organize sample shelves
  • Assist in tracking purchase orders and learn how to use Island Pacific (IP) for order writing and revision
  • Create product information packets for stores
  • Analyze product performance, customer segments, and other attributes to advise buyers for future assortments/allocations
  • Brainstorm and research new products and trends within your assigned category

Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize projects and multitask
  • Eagerness to learn and participate
  • Rudimentary understanding of retail math
  • Detail-oriented and creative thinker
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Retail experience preferred and interest in Home buying
