Job Overview

  • Full-time position in the Mental Health Service Line (MHSL) within the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center
  • Assigned to the Lakeside Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Chicago, IL
  • Provides psychological services to Veterans enrolled at the Lakeside CBOC
  • Services include assessment, psychoeducation, individual and group therapy, case management, and consultation
  • Services provided in-person and through tele-health technologies

Compensation

  • Salary: $86,594 - $160,444 per year
  • Pay scale & grade: GS 13

Responsibilities

  • Provides psychodiagnostic services, functional assessment, and quality care to Veterans
  • Offers pient-centered, recovery-oriented therapeutic interventions
  • Provides clinical consultation to peers, supervisors, and hospital staff
  • Delivers educion and consultion to staff of assigned areas or programs
  • Participes in and provides educional presentions to VA psychology trainees
  • Documents all clinical work accurely and in a timely fashion
  • Conducts structured clinical interviews, comprehensive assessments, crisis interventions, and trement planning
  • Provides clinical care coordinion and case management

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited program
  • Successful completion of a professional psychology internship program
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level
  • Experience commensurate with GS-12 or GS-13 level, depending on the position
  • Must meet all other conditions of employment as stated in the job post
