Job Overview

  • Serves as the Chief Pharmacist at a Federal Bureau of Prisons correctional facility.
  • Responsible for all aspects of pharmacy operations, including dispensing, pharmaceutical care, clinical and community relations, and accreditation compliance.
  • Plans and provides a completely integrated pharmacy program and coordinates these programs with all other departments within the institution.
  • Ensures the integrity of all medications are maintained and properly stored.
  • Manages the pharmaceutical budget and ensures national contract compliance.

Compensation

  • Salary: $92,123 - $119,760 per year
  • Pay scale & grade: GS 12
  • 1 vacancy in Seac, WA

Responsibilities

  • Provide a completely integrated pharmacy program
  • Coordinate pharmacy programs with other departments within the institution
  • Dispense pharmaceuticals in accordance with proper procedures
  • Maintain the integrity and proper storage of medications
  • Manage the pharmaceutical budget and ensure contract compliance

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Doctoral degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Licensure to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • At least one year of professional pharmacy experience
  • Ability to distinguish basic colors
  • Must undergo credentialing process prior to employment
