#Job Overview

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Louisiana is seeking motivated and outstanding law student interns for its 2023-2024 Internship Program. This program includes internships during the Fall 2023 Semester, Spring 2024 Semester, and Summer 2024 Semester. Interns will have the opportunity to work on significant and complex cases, alongside Assistant U.S. Attorneys and other staff, in order to enforce federal criminal and civil laws that protect citizens' life, liberty, and property.

#Compensation

  • Salary: $0 - $0 without compensation
  • Pay scale & grade: GS 00

#Responsibilities

  • Researching legal issues and providing case-related support
  • Drafting and writing motions, responses, and pleadings
  • Assisting with trial support and assembling exhibits
  • Interviewing witnesses
  • Attending trials, hearings, attorney conferences, and other legal proceedings

Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen or National
  • Must be enrolled in law school pursuing a Juris Doctor Degree, taking at least a half-time academic course load in an accredited university
  • Must have outstanding academic records, superior writing skills, and be in good academic standing
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
