Job Overview
- This is a civil engineer position to provide engineering assistance to the Dam Safety Bureau and the Office of the State Engineer.
- Perform dam inspections, review design reports, construction plans and specifications, and perform/review various civil engineering analyses.
- Work under the supervision of a licensed professional civil engineer.
- Assist the Dam Safety Bureau in regulating dams in New Mexico to ensure safety.
- Help manage publicly funded capital projects assigned to the bureau for administration.
Compensation
- DOE (Depends on Experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform dam inspections and review of design reports, construction plans, and specifications.
- Conduct civil engineering analyses related to hydrologic, hydraulic, geotechnical, structural engineering, and other technical work.
- Support the enforcement of dam safety regulations.
- Assist in the management of publicly funded capital projects.
- Review documentation and invoices to ensure appropriate use of public funds.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a civil engineering program or related field.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
