Job Overview###

  • AgWest Farm Credit is actively recruiting college Juniors or Seniors interested in exploring a career in the financial services industry.
  • The Internship Program provides a realistic job preview and insights into career opportunities and potential at AgWest, focusing on lending, appraisal, and crop insurance.
  • Interns work with a designated coach and complete a formal training action plan, gaining exposure to various positions and areas of the business.
  • AgWest is a member-owned financial cooperative that helps business owners in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries secure financing and crop insurance.
  • Primary customer base: Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Nevada, Arizona, and California.

Compensation###

  • $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities###

  • Assistance with lending, appraisal, and crop insurance activities.
  • Completion of assigned tasks under the guidance of a designated coach.
  • Active participation in training and learning opportunities.

Requirements###

  • First-hand knowledge/experience with agriculture in Alaska.
  • Junior or Senior status (must have at least one college term remaining after the internship).
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Ag Economics, Ag Business, or a related field.
  • Coursework related to Finance, Accounting, Economics, Farm and Ranch Management, Business Management, Marketing, or related disciplines.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and computer skills, demonstrated through extracurricular activities and/or work experience.
