Job Overview

Experian's Summer Internship Program offers college students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience in a global information services company. As a Support Quality Engineer Intern specializing in Observability Tools, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and monitoring of critical software systems. This internship provides exposure to production support, monitoring, and automation using cutting-edge observability tools like Splunk and Datadog. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and performance through proactive monitoring and automated dashboard creation.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education. This position is also eligible for a variable pay opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off including paid parental and family care leave, an employee stock purchase plan, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Support Quality Engineer Intern include:

  • Work closely with the team to implement and configure observability tools, such as Splunk and Datadog, for monitoring various software applications and infrastructure components.
  • Configure proactive alerts and notifications in observability tools to promptly identify anomalies and potential performance degradation.
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks, optimize workflows, and enhance the efficiency of the production support team.
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation of observability tool configurations, dashboards, and automated processes.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm for Observability: Demonstrated interest in monitoring, observability tools, and production support.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java nodejs) and experience with data visualization tools would be advantageous.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and document processes.
  • Learning Mindset: Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and processes related to production support and observability.
  • Currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related degree.
  • Be returning to school in the Fall of 2024 to continue or complete the degree program.
