Job Overview
At American Family Insurance Claims Services (AFICS, Inc.), we're transforming our claims capabilities to prioritize customer satisfaction and protect their dreams. As a Large Loss Property Field Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating high exposure claims, evaluating damages, conducting on-site inspections, and handling claim negotiations to ensure a positive outcome for our customers. Compensation
- Minimum: $68,200/year
- Maximum: $109,200/year
- Compensation may vary based on job level and geographic work location.
Responsibilities
- Investigate origin and cause of high exposure claims
- Contact insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, and other parties involved
- Participate in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure
- Handle both 1st party claims
- Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate claims
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on claim process and status
- Mentor and support less experienced adjusters
- Handle homeowner property field claims in the Northern IL, Central OH, and Central IN area
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- 5+ years of experience handling field property personal lines claims
- 5+ years of experience handling claims over $50,000
- Advanced Xactimate experience
- Located within the Northern IL, Central OH, and Central IN area
- Ability to work in high, precarious places (1-33% of the time)
- Ability to work with exposure to outside weather conditions (66-100% of the time)
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions
- Knowledge of policies, endorsements, and coverages
- State-specific property casualty claims licensing (or ability to obtain)
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time and for Catastrophe duty if necessary
