Job Overview
You will be working as a Professional Counselor within the Sex Offender Treatment Program of Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson, LA. ELMHS is a state psychiatric complex that provides residential, outpatient, and inpatient services. In this role, you will be working with inpatient clients who have been identified as having sexual behavior problems.
Compensation
- Salary: $3,186.00 - $5,734.00 Monthly
Responsibilities
- Conduct penile plethysmograph assessments
- Assist in interpretation of penile plethysmograph assessments with supervision
- Recommend therapeutic intervention strategies and treatment approaches based on psychosexual assessment to an interdisciplinary team
- Develop a working knowledge of correctional or community resources to recommend or refer offenders for specialized services
- Attend and participate in community health programs, in-services, and continuing education
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and conduct correspondence relevant to the area of specialty
- Assist in training staff regarding specialized areas of expertise
Requirements
- Registration as either a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Louisiana Board of Licensed Professional Counselors
