Job Overview

  • Holcim US offers an unparalleled range of innovative cement, aggregates, asphalt, concrete products, and construction services.
  • This internship opportunity is a 10-week, paid internship beginning on May 28th, 2024.
  • Gain knowledge about operating procedures, production/maintenance, and various products at one of our Aggregate sites.
  • Understand various mechanical, maintenance, and production operations.
  • Collate data, establish process correlations, and develop strategies for capital projects.
  • Create a presentation at the end of your internship to executive leadership regarding what you have learned and contributed to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Gain knowledge about operating procedures, production/maintenance, and various products.
  • Understand mechanical, maintenance, and production operations.
  • Collate data, establish process correlations, and develop strategies for capital projects.
  • Make a contribution that will have an impact on the business.
  • Utilize various skill sets/knowledge to achieve team/company goals.
  • Create a presentation for executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mining Engineering or a similar field.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Geographic flexibility.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
  • Team-oriented and able to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Willing to spend time out in the field getting to know the business first hand.
  • Onsite role with an 8-hour shift, Monday - Friday (40 hours per week).
  • Will work in an aggregate environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment and outside weather conditions.
  • Responsible for own transportation to and from worksite.
  • May be required to travel for site tours, shadow experiences, or intern events.
