Job Overview
Scribe Video Center is seeking paid student-workers to support the Power Politics oral history project. Power Politics is a comprehensive initiative that documents the experiences of Black and Puerto Rican political activists in Philadelphia from 1945 to the present. As a college or high school student, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to this important project. Apply today!

Responsibilities
- Research individuals and movements involved in Black and Puerto Rican empowerment movements, including community activists working in social, political, and cultural spheres.
- Participate in oral history training sessions.
- Research, contact, and communicate with interview subjects.
- Conduct 5 to 6 video oral history interviews either in person or via Zoom.
- Research institutional and private archives for photos, recorded audio, and documents related to issues affecting Black and Puerto Rican communities.
- Transcribe and fact-check the interviews.
Requirements
- Deep interest in community organizing and community histories.
- Familiarity with recording software such as Zoom and Audacity.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Solid research skills.
- Willingness to learn new software, such as Adobe Premiere and Hindenburg.
