Job Overview

The Ybor Youth Clinic (YYC) is seeking a Media Publishing Specialist to join our team. As a non-profit clinic, our mission is to provide healthcare services to medically underserved and disenfranchised youth in an environment tailored to them. In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff members to coordinate the development of social marketing projects and educational materials. Your main responsibilities will include managing the clinic's social media presence, creating printed materials, and contributing to marketing campaigns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in social marketing and make a difference in the Tampa community.

Compensation

  • Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $15.80 - $17.00 per hour
  • 10 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of YYC social media calendar
  • Scheduled postings on YYC social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Collaboration with other USF Pediatric Infectious Diseases Division (PID) staff to develop social marketing related to YYC projects
  • Social media promotion of special YYC events
  • Production of printed materials as needed
  • Periodic assessment of efficiency in reaching YYC target patient population in collaboration with Database Intern
  • Development of materials for YYC donors
  • Development of marketing plan to solicit financial support from local business community
  • Other projects based on the Social Marketing Intern's ideas with the goal of enhancing understanding of YYC services and mission in the community

Requirements

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least four years of experience in an office or administrative support position requiring the use of desktop publishing applications. Appropriate additional education may be substituted for this experience requirement.
  • Graduate coursework in social marketing, marketing, health communication, or a related field is preferred (e.g., PHC 6411 - Introduction to Social Marketing for Public Health).
  • Previous experience with social media content strategy development and oversight.
  • Previous experience with design software, such as Adobe Publisher, InDesign, or Illustrator.
  • Previous experience with public health and targeted messaging campaigns.
