Job Overview
We are seeking Software Engineering Interns to join our Winter 2024 Co-op program. At Jane Street, we value functional programming and primarily use OCaml, a statically-typed functional programming language, for development. We also embrace open source software, incorporating it into our daily work and releasing our own code as open source. We work on a wide range of problems, from machine learning to systems administration to programming language design.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams on various software engineering projects
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Co-op program at your university
- Excellent programming skills
- Passion for and deep understanding of technology
- Humble attitude and willingness to seek help and learn from mistakes
- Ability to work effectively in close-knit teams
- Clear and respectful communication with colleagues
- No background in finance, functional programming, or OCaml required
- Must be available to work in-person in our NYC office from January 2024 through April 2024
- Fluency in English required
