Job Overview
RHC Engineering is seeking self-motivated engineers with previous design experience on transportation structures. As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks alongside a great team. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Designing new bridges, walls, and other structures, including structural study and plan development
- Conducting load rating, rehabilitation, and retrofit design for existing bridges and structures
- Performing structural modeling and analysis, including linear, nonlinear, and seismic analysis
- Preparing PS&E (Plans, Specifications & Estimate) for bridges, walls, and other structural projects
- Generating engineering analysis reports
- Reviewing construction shop drawings and ensuring constructability
- Estimating construction costs and writing project specifications

Responsibilities
- Designing new bridges, walls, and other structures, including structural study and plan development

- Preparing PS&E (Plans, Specifications & Estimate) for bridges, walls, and other structural projects

- Estimating construction costs and writing project specifications
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering required, MS in Structural Engineering preferred
- Proficiency in using structural programs such as SAP2000 or CSiBridge
- Experience with AASHTO bridge design codes and WSDOT BDM
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation software
- Strong communication skills, proactive and efficient in client and colleague interactions
