Job Overview

Hill+Knowlton Strategies is seeking a Fellow to join our dynamic team for an immediate start. This formal fellowship is designed to help further develop essential communications, strategic planning, research, and media skills. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and skillful writer who can manage deadlines for multiple clients, while still creating quality work. We are looking for a solution-oriented team player with a positive attitude and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor relevant industry news for daily/weekly client monitoring reports
  • Draft press materials and press releases
  • Maintain media lists, research reporters and craft media pitches
  • Conduct research and compile detailed information on industry events and activities in support of presentation deliverables to C-level executives
  • Proactively participate in team, staff, and client meetings and proactively seek and share relevant information when appropriate
  • Conduct media outreach and schedule client interviews with reporters, staffing interviews when needed
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members across the energy sector network
  • Learn through a rich curriculum of professional development and training opportunities

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree needed, and a plus if it’s in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism
  • Previous corporate communications and/or public relations agency-based internship experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong research skills with the ability to analyze and summarize findings
  • Excellent writer with knowledge of AP style guidelines
  • Interest in purpose-driven communication and storytelling
  • Organized, poised, personable team player able to think on your feet
  • Comfortable working on fast-paced assignments and willing to go above and beyond
  • Experience with tools such as Cision and TV Eyes preferred, but not required
