Job Overview

The Taft Museum of Art is seeking experienced Art Educators to join its Summer Art Camp team. The camp provides an exciting, intensive art experience for students entering grades 1-3, 4-6, and 7-12. As an instructor, you will collaborate with the Learning & Outreach Manager to plan projects and activities for the campers. Additionally, you will oversee around 20 students each camp week, organize student art exhibitions, and direct the day-to-day work of college interns.


  • Stipend of $1500 for a full week of camp
  • Stipend of $1200 for Memorial Day week camp


  • Plan projects and activities for campers
  • Collaborate with Learning & Outreach Manager to bring in local visual and performing artists
  • Oversee approximately 20 students each camp week
  • Organize student art exhibitions
  • Direct the day-to-day work of college interns


  • Bachelor of Art in Art Education or similar experience
  • Three or more years of experience teaching art education in a classroom setting
  • Experience creating age-appropriate lesson plans and art projects
  • Ability to create a fun and respectful atmosphere
  • Flexibility with lesson plans and content delivery methods based on current health and safety policies
