Job Overview

The Institute for Market Transformation is seeking a motivated individual to support our work to decarbonize buildings while benefitting the communities they are in. We leverage our expertise in real estate and public policy to drive and support policy outcomes, changes in real estate practices, and market demand for high-performing buildings. As a Policy Intern, you will update and maintain a policy compliance database, conduct research, and provide administrative support to the Policy team.

Compensation

  • Status: 4-month Temporary Full-Time Non-exempt, Hourly
  • Hourly: $22 per hour, paid biweekly
  • Working Conditions: Full-Time Remote, 35hrs/week, Occasional Domestic Travel, Technical Setup Provided (Laptop, Monitor, Accessories)
  • Benefits: Paid Time Off, Matching IRA Contributions, Professional Development Opportunities
  • Reports to: Program Manager, Business Engagement
  • Proposed Start Date: mid-April 2023

Responsibilities

  • Research, compile, and synthesize building energy policy legislation into IMT’s policy database
  • Assist with research tasks between Business Engagement Team and Policy team’s projects
  • Synthesize research to reflect the changing market and legislative situation and provide market insights
  • Create and administer interview surveys with local government staff and stakeholders
  • Support logistics, data entry, and other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Present project findings and market insights to IMT staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Interest in clean energy or sustainability
  • Interest or experience in database management
  • Enthusiasm, dedication, and a drive to succeed
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and research skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Ability to perform self-directed work and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines
