Job Overview
NexGen Design Systems, a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer and supplier of high-performance architectural panel systems, is seeking qualified candidates. As a CAD Designer/Estimator, you will be responsible for sales, design, and planning tasks associated with the sale, design, and fabrication of multiple wall-cladding products.
Compensation
- Pay: $42,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural plans and specifications
- Perform pre-sales estimating and system design
- Prepare façade panel shop drawings & submittals for new projects
- Attend meetings and communicate with internal technical sales, design, and production staff
- Assist in training and development of interns and new CAD technicians
- Comply with cultural and safety initiatives
Requirements
- Associate degree in CAD design or engineering technologies specializing in Architectural applications; high school diploma with 2-4 years of estimating or architectural CAD design experience
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
- General understanding of construction practices, principles, methods, and techniques
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience with AutoCAD®, Revit®, Bluebeam, On-Screen Take-off, or similar software preferred
