Compensation

  • Pay: $23.00 - $50.00 per hour
  • Job Types: Contract, Internship
  • Schedule: After school, weekend availability
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Oakland, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • Work Location: In person

Responsibilities

As a Game Design Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching a group of 10-20 students after school in our program. Our program is designed to cater to students of all abilities, and classes are typically scheduled 2-3 days a week between 3:30 PM-6:00 PM. We encourage creativity and innovation, and we want our instructors to inspire students to explore the world of game design.

Requirements

  • Technical background in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Education, App, Games or Robotics Development, or a strong interest in coding, games development, and robotics.
  • Strong passion for mentoring and providing students with programming education.
  • Experience working on game development projects, either independently or as part of a team, using software such as Unity, Unreal, Construct, Godot, or similar.
  • Enthusiasm for honing your skills and exploring new areas within the realm of game development.
  • Experience working with programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, C++, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Expertise in creating assets, characters, and environments for games using 3D modeling programs like Maya and Blender.
  • Experience creating digital illustrations, concept art, or sprite assets for games is a great advantage.
