Job Overview

McGrew Behavior Intervention Services (MBIS) is a leading agency that provides superior high-quality behavior support services to families and individuals with developmental disabilities, emotional disturbances, and/or other health impairments. Our emphasis is on the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We are currently seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Associate Behavior Specialists (ABS). As an ABS, you will work with and teach children with disabilities as part of a dynamic team. You will be trained and supported by our team of Behavior Analysts and Behavior Specialists.
Compensation
Hourly Range Based on Education & Experience: $18-$28
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 play-based instruction to clients using techniques and interventions from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Work with individuals to decrease undesired behaviors through discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, prompting strategies, and behavior reduction interventions.
- Implement lessons to improve communication, social, play, and self-help skills.
- Manage maladaptive behavior as it occurs during sessions.
- Travel to clients' home and/or school locations to provide services.
- Collect onsite data.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Create lasting, positive change for children and their families.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Current CA driver's license.
- Experience working with individuals w/ disabilities preferred.
- TB clearance.
- COVID-19 vaccine.
- Vehicle transportation.
- Passion to help others and their families.
- Physical requirements vary and are based on specific client assignments. You may be asked to engage in any of the following: push, pull, lift up to 35 pounds, and move quickly, according to client needs. It is necessary to be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
