Job Overview
The Department of Commerce is seeking a creative Graphic Designer to join their communications team as part of the Return Utah program. This program is designed for individuals who have taken a career break and are looking to re-enter the workforce. As a Graphic Designer, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, training, and mentoring to support your return to work.
Compensation
This is a part-time, intent-to-hire opportunity. Upon completion of the program, based on performance, participants may receive an offer of employment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Communications Director and other team members to create and develop materials and digital assets
- Implement innovative design concepts across multiple mediums
- Develop marketing collateral and assist with storyboards, concept boards, sketches, and illustrations
- Provide illustrations, technical design, data visualization, and charts for print and electronic layouts
- Assist with photography for Commerce events, including post-production editing
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all promotional materials
Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must:
- Be on a career break of two or more years at the time of application, or currently serving, recently separated, retired from military service, or supporting a military spouse/partner
- Have prior professional experience in the functional area of interest
- Have an interest in returning to a full-time position (optional for intent-to-hire positions)
- Be a resident of the State of Utah
