Job Overview

The GDPL Intern position is offered by InterAction, a leading alliance of U.S.-based international development and humanitarian organizations. As an intern, you will support InterAction's Global Development, Policy, and Learning Team in their efforts to advocate for social justice and basic dignity. This internship provides valuable experience in global change and policy work.

Compensation

  • Paid internship at D.C. minimum wage ($16.10 per hour)

Responsibilities

As a GDPL Intern, you will:

  • Attend and summarize hearings, briefings, and events
  • Provide administrative support for meetings and briefings
  • Contribute to strategy development and advocacy outreach
  • Research and brief on legislative action
  • Update internal databases
  • Support specific workstreams, such as Food Security and Agriculture
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or working towards one) in government, public policy, international relations, or a related field
  • Able to commit to at least 4 days a week of work (32 hours per week)
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Basic knowledge of legislative and election processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interest in policy and the non-profit sector
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
