Job Overview

The CUNY University of New York is seeking a Technical Career Coach/Student Success Manager for the Tech Talent Pipeline (TTP) Residency program. This role focuses on supporting TTP Residents and alumni in their professional development, helping them transition from school to their first job in software engineering roles. The successful candidate will inspire and motivate students, provide coaching and support, and build employer relationships to facilitate job placement. This is a full-time hybrid position, with 70% on-site presence.

Compensation

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and group activities to help students set career goals and overcome barriers to success
  • Prepare students for internship applications, interviews, and securing tech positions
  • Build and manage employer relationships for job placements and career development
  • Assess and track students' professional skills, technical skills, and job readiness
  • Develop and deliver workshops on professional and soft skills
  • Collect and analyze data to propose improvements for technical training and career services
  • Recruit students for the TTP Residency program and assist with the application process
  • Plan networking and project showcase opportunities for participants
  • Drive student engagement activities and communications
  • Work collaboratively with program managers, career services, and computer science department faculty/staff to ensure student success
  • Support full-stack development training

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree related to human resources, psychology, or computer science
  • 3-5 years of experience in the tech sector, tech education, or tech workforce development
  • Experience working in a college institution in a student-facing role
  • Coaching/management experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative team player with enthusiasm
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and self-starter with initiative
