Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Youth Activist Network Managers, the Youth Activist Institute (YAI) intern will play a crucial role in coordinating event logistics and preparing materials for the annual four-day youth activist training. This internship offers opportunities to learn about youth sexual and reproductive health rights and justice.

Compensation

The intern will be paid $17.00 per hour for 18 hours per week between May 29th - September 11th. Dates and hours are flexible, depending on the schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Attend virtual planning meetings with small planning committees and all staff meetings for the YAI
  • Assist in coordinating event logistics, including hotel rooming lists, catering orders, and travel
  • Oversee registration for 100-130 training participants, track registration, ensure completion of participant contracts and paperwork, and prepare conference materials such as certificates, name tags, and essential documents
  • Provide day-of coordination and logistics support
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Demonstrated interest in organizing, advocacy, and global and/or domestic sexual and reproductive health and rights issues
  • Capacity to work with a diverse group
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
