Job Overview

  • Assist Senior Director and Associate Director with research to support the rollout of the 2024 shareholder strategy
  • Engage with various sectors (including restaurant, retail, hospitality, meat producers, and gig) to promote worker rights
  • Conduct research on key issues and companies, analyze company documents and reports
  • Contact public interest organizations for information on social and environmental records of companies
  • Draft issue briefs, backgrounders, and company profiles
  • Develop resources for consistent member engagement across companies
  • Participate in company and NGO engagements
  • Present research to program staff and investors

Compensation

  • 10-week internship from June to August, with the possibility of extension
  • 25 hours per week with flexibility (preferably some East Coast business hours)
  • Stipend: $3,750 for the entire 10-week period

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on key issues and companies to inform engagements
  • Contact community, environmental, labor, and other public interest organizations for information

Requirements

  • Students from a wide range of academic programs and geographies are welcome
  • Experience and knowledge of worker rights and familiarity with corporate social responsibility preferred
  • Excellent research skills and ability to organize and synthesize information effectively
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Attention to detail, organized, methodical, and strong time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
