Job Overview
- Assist Senior Director and Associate Director with research to support the rollout of the 2024 shareholder strategy
- Engage with various sectors (including restaurant, retail, hospitality, meat producers, and gig) to promote worker rights
- Conduct research on key issues and companies, analyze company documents and reports
- Contact public interest organizations for information on social and environmental records of companies
- Draft issue briefs, backgrounders, and company profiles
- Develop resources for consistent member engagement across companies
- Participate in company and NGO engagements
- Present research to program staff and investors
Compensation
- 10-week internship from June to August, with the possibility of extension
- 25 hours per week with flexibility (preferably some East Coast business hours)
- Stipend: $3,750 for the entire 10-week period
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on key issues and companies to inform engagements
- Contact community, environmental, labor, and other public interest organizations for information
- Draft issue briefs, backgrounders, and company profiles
- Develop resources for consistent member engagement
- Participate in company and NGO engagements
- Present research to program staff and investors
Requirements
- Students from a wide range of academic programs and geographies are welcome
- Experience and knowledge of worker rights and familiarity with corporate social responsibility preferred
- Excellent research skills and ability to organize and synthesize information effectively
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Attention to detail, organized, methodical, and strong time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
