Job Overview

Laurus Grant Writing and Evaluation Services is seeking a part-time student Evaluation Intern. The intern will assist our Evaluation team in implementing program impact evaluation and data management resources across Laurus' clients and assist with data analysis. The intern's work will support and inform the organization's work in the areas of technical assistance, development of evaluation tools, and formative and summative program evaluation. The intern will support making program implementation and outcomes data understandable and actionable, and will assist on projects including research on out-of-school time programming in low-income school districts.

Compensation

This internship is a part-time, paid internship position at $18/hour. The internship can include a hybrid work model but does require on-site work.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in quantitative analyses of program stakeholder surveys, programmatic, and administrative data to inform various program and planning efforts, evaluation of program impact, and improvements in technical assistance delivery.
  • Develop program data summaries to contribute to technical assistance delivery, including tracking program compliance and outcomes.
  • Draft evaluation tools such as stakeholder surveys.
  • Support the management of Laurus Grant Writing and Evaluation Services' internal databases.
  • Collect, analyze and report on internal and external data, producing graphical representations and tables for data summaries, presentations, and decision making.
  • Conduct descriptive and statistical analyses in Excel to support program evaluations.
  • Draft reports and presentations for internal and external audiences, as requested.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Education, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field
  • Availability to commit to approximately 10 hours per week through May 2023, with the possibility of extension
  • Demonstrated analytical experience with Microsoft Excel; must understand how to clean and manipulate data in Excel; ability to create Pivot Tables and Graphs
  • Familiarity with data analysis and program evaluation methodologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to create and deliver presentations on data analysis
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, with demonstrated ability to learn new material or tools
