Job Overview

  • End Citizens United/Let America Vote (ECU/LAV) is seeking a Political Intern to join their team.
  • ECU/LAV's mission is to fix our democracy by getting big money out of politics and protecting the right to vote.
  • As a Political Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting federal, state, and local races across the country.

Compensation

  • This is a paid position with a rate of $16.50 per hour.
  • The internship starts in June with a flexible end date.
  • Interns can work up to 35 hours per week.
  • ECU provides a monthly transportation stipend.

Responsibilities

  • Track campaigns and political news.
  • Draft memorandums and candidate biographies.
  • Monitor ads and voting rules changes in key races.
  • Assist with research on target candidates' districts/states and incumbents' records.
  • Occasionally monitor the front desk and answer the phone on in-office days.
  • Other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of how race, class, and other identity markers intersect with advocacy and electoral campaigns.
  • Passion for campaign finance reform and voting rights.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must live in or relocate to DC, Maryland, or Virginia for the duration of the internship.
  • ECU utilizes a flexible hybrid work-from-home and in-office policy.
