Job Overview

A successful Day Care Group Leader candidate will have various skills and qualifications to perform the required duties, including:

  • Effective instruction of young children
  • Patience and communication skills with young children
  • Adaptation of teaching methods to meet different learning styles
  • Awareness of diaper changing policy and health & safety policy

Compensation

  • Pay: $600.00 per week
  • Benefits:

  • Schedule:
    • 8 hour shift
    • Day shift
    • Monday to Friday
  • COVID-19 considerations: All staff and children age 2 and up must wear a mask. COVID-19 Vaccination required.
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Develop fun and educational activities for young children
  • Instruct young children in rules of conduct and learning new tasks
  • Select the appropriate teaching method and adapt to children's learning styles
  • Effectively communicate with children and parents
  • Demonstrate proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to the various needs of children and parents
  • Showcase patience and compassion suitable for working with young children
  • Change diapers correctly
  • Potty train children

Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Must have a valid Pediatric & Adult CPR/First Aid/AED Certificate
  • CDA or A.A in Early Childhood
  • 15 hr of Health & Safety Certificate
  • 2 hr of Mandated Reporter Certificate
  • Supervision of Children (OCFS)
  • School-Age Supervision (OCFS)
  • Managing Challenging Behaviors (OCFS)
  • Fingerprints for DOH
  • $25 money order for SCR for Background (NYS OCFS)
  • SEL Background Check
  • Work Day: Monday to Friday
  • Monday's 8:45 AM - 5:45 PM
  • Tuesday to Friday 7:20 AM - 4:20 PM
