Job Overview
Axle Informatics is a scientific research and information technology company that offers innovative computer services, informatics, and bioresearch solutions to research centers and healthcare organizations around the globe. We work with top research organizations and facilities, including multiple institutes at the NIH.
We are currently looking for Data Science Trainees to support engineering-based Data Science projects at the National Center for Advancing Translational Science (NCATS) and the NIH.

Responsibilities
- Assist in development of software using a variety of languages (ex: JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.)
- Working with web development with NodeJS and Angular.
- Designing new features and performance enhancements for existing systems.
- Participate in testing and fixing bugs in existing written codes.
- Creating or adding to existing application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Gaining on-site work experience at various locations within the NIH.
Requirements
- Pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor's, Master’s, PhD, or Post-Doc in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Able to work 40 hours/week.
- Ability to work independently, just as well as with general supervision.
- Ability to work in a team environment with changing priorities.
- Skilled in scripting languages (Javascript/Typescript dramatically preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
