Job Overview

The Co-op program (June - January or September - January) is designed to provide engineering students with strong technical and analytical skills an opportunity to gain real world experience in the field of Engineering. This position will provide support to the Mechanical Engineer Group and/or the Electrical Engineers while working on projects assigned by their mentor.

Compensation

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Work in Solidworks to design, draw, and/or update components, parts, equipment, etc. within customer specifications, and according to company standards.
  • Convert high usage 2D Anvil parts/drawings to Solidworks.
  • Perform mass drawing revisions and BOM updates when a single change affects many part numbers.
  • Help to create additional standard design library models as needed.
  • Create and modify drawings per redline changes via Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
  • Review changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, or drafting techniques and procedures with shop and/or engineering team and coordinate corrections.
  • Reviews own drawings for quality and accuracy.
  • Perform other tasks as required. Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to, the duties listed in this job description.

Requirements

Technology Skills

  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks.
  • 2D drafting experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Coursework or related experience in Engineering.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to travel on occasion (less than 5% of time).
