The Human Resources Apprentice will support HR activities related to all aspects of the employee lifecycle, such as talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, talent intelligence, and legal/policy compliance. This role will participate in an 18–24 month program of classroom, self-study, and on-the-job learning, following the SHRM Foundation HR Apprenticeship Program guidelines. The program will culminate with a final assessment and SHRM-CP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform human resources management duties as per a pre-defined curriculum, to gain experience as an HR generalist, while delivering employee services, talent management support, and ongoing value to the organization.
  • Actively participate in relevant SHRM-sponsored courses to enhance knowledge of HR functions.
  • Apply formal learning theories into day-to-day practice and actively contribute innovative and creative solutions to improve HR department programs and initiatives.
  • Analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders through collaborative work.

  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possess an inclusive mindset when considering others' viewpoints and the ability to interact and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other commonly used communication and collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to exercise tact and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
