Job Overview

  • Plan lessons on art and art history in accordance with students' learning objectives
  • Work with primary and secondary youth
  • Provide instruction on drawing and painting, as well as art history
  • Create and facilitate group art projects for youth 5 - 12 years old

Compensation

  • Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
  • Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Internship
  • Schedule: After school, Monday to Friday
  • COVID-19 considerations: COVID – 19 PRECAUTIONS PROGRAM PLAN
    • Participants will report to the MAW Program Location and check-in per CDC mandates
    • Staff will check each participant’s temperature at arrival
    • A sanitation station will be always available for participants

Responsibilities

  • Plan lessons on art and art history
  • Teach drawing, painting, and art history to primary and secondary youth
  • Create and facilitate group art projects
  • Supervise group work
  • Solve problems and provide support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts with teaching qualification, or equivalent
  • Prior experience as an art teacher
  • Demonstrated excellence in a variety of art techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity to supervise group work
  • Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills
  • Supportive, flexible disposition
  • Available to work during evenings, on occasion
  • Teaching: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Teaching Certification (Preferred)
  • Security clearance: Confidential (Preferred)
