Nutrition R&D Intern
Job Location
Fremont, Michigan (Remote, Hybrid, or Relocation)
Job Overview
- Join the Nestlé Infant Nutrition team in Fremont, Michigan for a minimum of 6 months beginning in May 2023.
- Gain exposure in the food industry and learn more about food composition and early childhood feeding.
- Contribute to the innovation and renovation projects aligned with infant nutrition standards and regulations.
- Support the global portfolio of Nestlé infant products through ingredient analyses and nutritional competitive analyses.
Compensation
- Approximate target compensation: $23-25/hr (good faith estimate at the time of posting).
- Final compensation may vary based on background, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
Responsibilities
- Participate in cross-functional team activities to align innovation and renovation projects with infant nutrition standards and governing regulations.
- Support the global portfolio of Nestlé infant products through navigation of internal information systems to complete ingredient analyses.
- Search literature and synthesize scientific writing into internal communication used to strengthen project initiatives.
- Conduct nutritional competitive analyses to build knowledge on nutritional profiles of products currently on the market.
- Critically examine nutrition recommendations from global public health authorities to develop and define nutrition thresholds.
Requirements
- Education:
- MS or PhD in Nutrition Science candidates preferred (graduating by June 2023).
- Undergraduate degree in Dietetics preferred.
- GAP of 3.0 and above preferred.
- Additional Requirements:
- Self-starter, able to take initiative.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Familiar with FDA/USDA regulatory food labeling guidelines.
- Strong scientific writing skills.
- Proficient in professional communication and conduct.
- Experienced in using Excel functions to create interactive worksheets.
- No work visa sponsorships available for this position.
