No Kid Hungry Youth Ambassadors

Job Overview

No child should grow up hungry in America. The No Kid Hungry campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food, providing them access to healthy meals where they live, learn, and play. As a Youth Ambassador, you will work with our community partner, Lowcountry Food Bank, to assist with meal preparation and distribution, support our Nutrition Education team, and help with logistics related to feeding children and their families during the summer months.

Compensation

  • Stipend: Up to $6000 over the course of the summer
  • Hours: 360 hours over 10 weeks
  • Start Date: June 05, 2023
  • End Date: August 11, 2023
  • Paid Vacation: 1 week

Responsibilities

  • Create and package meals/production kitchen support (50%)
  • Deliver nutrition education programming to kids and families (25%)
  • Attend team meetings and assist with admin tasks (10%)
  • Assist with Pop-Up Produce distributions (10%)
  • Contribute to No Kid Hungry projects (5%)

Requirements

  • Reliability, responsibility, and a good work ethic
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Use of personal laptop and mobile phone preferred
  • Reliable access to a vehicle
