Job Overview

Join the Customs and Border Protection Office of Information and Technology to use your expertise in information security systems, policies, and procedures. This position offers a salary range of $132,368.00 to $172,075.00 with promotion potential. Solve technical problems and strengthen the Department of Homeland Security's ability to perform homeland security functions.

Compensation

  • Salary: $132,368.00 to $172,075.00 (GS-14, Step 1 to GS-14, Step 10)
  • Promotion potential to $172,075 (GS-14, Step 10)

Responsibilities

  • Implement, develop, and revise higher-level security requirements such as those resulting from changes in laws, regulations, or Presidential directives.
  • Define the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies applicable to the security program.
  • Resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems with the existing infrastructure.
  • Review proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service
  • Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
  • Background investigation may be required
  • CBP follows the DHS Drug-Free Workplace Plan for drug testing procedures
  • Must adhere to government ethics standards and criminal conflict of interest statutes
  • Must obtain approval for outside employment or business activity
