Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable Pharmacy Technician to process and fill prescriptions. Working under the guidance of a pharmacist, you will deliver excellent customer service and ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy. This role requires strong attention to detail and reliability. Proficiency in computer usage and excellent communication skills are essential.
Compensation
- Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Sterilize surfaces and equipment, preparing the pharmacy for opening
- Greet customers and address their inquiries
- Receive prescriptions and verify their validity
- Process prescriptions digitally, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
- Address issues promptly, such as rejected insurance claims
- Select appropriate medications and measure dosages for prescriptions
- Sort, stock, label medication, and monitor inventory
- Perform assigned administrative tasks, including record-keeping
- Adhere to security measures and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician
- Familiarity with an online prescription system is a plus
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
- Understanding of pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Reliable with great attention to detail
- Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is desirable
