Job Overview

  • Obtain, read, measure, and interpret electrocardiogram monitoring.
  • Operate and support physicians in designated clinical area using diagnostic and therapeutic medical instruments/equipment.
  • Locate and set up equipment needed for complex diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitor and plan equipment inventory, routine equipment maintenance, and serve as a unit resource for cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of reusable medical equipment.
  • Order and maintain specialized supplies needed for equipment and instruments used in assigned unit.
  • Perform and document treatments, procedures, and/or telemetry identification in the electronic medical record.
  • Demonstrate leadership in advocating patient safety and educating multidisciplinary staff in assigned area on reusable medical equipment.
  • Support health and medical staff during diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Gather screening data on patients triaged as ESI 4 and/or 5.
  • Recognize and inform appropriate multidisciplinary health care team of deviations from baseline screening parameters.
  • Perform phlebotomy in designated areas.
  • Apply basic splints and perform dressing changes in designated areas.
  • Perform Point of Care (POC) testing using glucometer and I-Stat devices.
  • Educate other HT staff and serve as the expert resource in specialized equipment/supply maintenance
